The tour starts at your hotel/accommodation and we set off from Ponta Delgada towards the municipality of Nordeste, the oldest, most remote and least explored region of the island of São Miguel.
We will stop at various viewpoints, gardens and natural parks such as “Ribeira dos Caldeirões to observe the magnificent waterfalls that are found here. The Northeast region, referred to as the 10th island and geologically the oldest in São Miguel, has mountains, impressive forests and rugged viewpoints over the sea, simple villages and an exuberance of flowers.
Lunch is served in a parish in the municipality of Nordeste.
The second part of the tour is made through the eastern end of the island to Vila da Povoação, landing place for the first navigators and inhabitants of the island. We continue the visit with the climb to the viewpoint of “Salto do Cavalo” to observe the region of “Sete Lombas”, coast, south, north of the island and the volcanic crater of Furnas.
Return to Ponta Delgada.
