In this experience along the coast of the island, you will be able to observe cetaceans, sperm whales, blue whales, whales humpback whales, beaked whales, dwarf whales, orcas, dolphins and bottlenose dolphins that populate our waters, with a frequency that varies seasonally, but with higher incidence in the summer months. Turtles, flying fish and various seabirds are also commonly observed.

The tour starts at your hotel or accommodation and a guide from Green Visions Tours will take you to the Ponta Delgada marina to start the fantastic adventure of observing different species of whales such as sperm whales, blue whales, humpback whales, and dwarf whales and dolphins and sea birds from the Azores that populate our waters.
In this activity, you will be accompanied by a marine biology guide throughout the whale watching tour.
The activity can be carried out in a semi-rigid boat for up to 10 passengers or a larger catamaran boat.
The activity lasts 3h / 3:30h.
On your return to Ponta Delgada marina, the guide will be waiting for you to start the second part of the tour.
There will be a break for lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, you will go up to "Pico da Barrosa", the second highest point of the island and known as "Lagoa da Fogo" to observe the magnificent lagoon and volcanic crater with about 15000 years old, with stops at several viewpoints where you can observe the north and south coast of the island and observe a geothermal plant that produces renewable electricity for the island.
On this tour you will also have the opportunity to observe a waterfall in its purest state and with crystal clear waters.
You will have the opportunity to bathe in thermal waters, so it is necessary to bring a bathing suit and towel (this activity is optional).
